Events

  • February 24 - John Larsen was the first member of the Swilling party to permanently settle a homestead.
  • May 4 - The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors formed an election precinct at Phoenix, the first official recognition.
  • June 3 - The first election is held in Phoenix, as part of the Yavapai County election.
  • May 25 - John Hoague became the first notary public to be appointed for the Phoenix Settlement.
  • June 15 - The post office was established in Phoenix with Jack Swilling as postmaster.
